Job split
Stock analysis app vs paper trading
Updated September 7, 2026. Same search, two products. Do not mix them up.
Search “stock analysis app for beginners” and you often land on a simulator: a virtual balance, a buy button, and a pretend P&L. That is paper trading. It teaches the order ticket. It does not tell you whether the company earns cash.
A stock analysis app is the other job. You open a real US ticker. You read how the business earns, whether cash follows profit, and whether today’s price already assumes a perfect year. That is understand a stock before you buy it. Finorify is built for that pass. It does not place real or pretend trades.
What paper trading finishes
- How a market order feels when the last price moves.
- How a virtual portfolio looks after a few buys and sells.
- Whether you panic when a pretend position goes red.
Those are useful skills if you plan to use a broker. They are the wrong first step if you still cannot explain the company. A winning paper-trade on a name you do not understand is luck, not analysis.
What a stock analysis app finishes
- How this business makes money, in plain language.
- Whether earnings turn into free cash flow.
- Whether the current price needs a perfect year. Finorify uses a simple DCF for that check.
If you cannot write those two sentences, you are not ready to buy the share, on paper or for real. See the buying-guide version: best stock analysis app for beginners.
When to use each
Use a paper trading app when you want to practice the ticket. Stack is one example of lessons plus a virtual portfolio. TradingView puts paper trading on the chart. See Finorify vs Stack and vs TradingView. Use Finorify when you already have a name, such as Apple, and you need the company page. Many people do both. Learn the words and the ticket elsewhere. Do the read here.
Finorify Pro is $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. We do not invent simulator prices. Check the other product for that.
Frequently asked questions
Is a paper trading app the same as a stock analysis app?
No. A paper trading app lets you practice orders with fake money. A stock analysis app helps you read one real company: how it earns, whether cash follows profit, and whether today’s price already assumes a perfect year. Finorify is the second job. It does not place trades.
Should beginners paper trade before they analyze a stock?
Use paper trading when you want to feel an order ticket and a pretend P&L. Use a stock analysis app when you already have a company in mind and still cannot explain the cash. Many people do both. Finorify does not include a simulator.
Does Finorify offer paper trading?
No. Finorify is analysis and education. It does not place real or pretend trades, and it does not hold money. Open a US ticker at app.finorify.com, read filings as charts, use the scorecard, and check a simple DCF.
