Microsoft (MSFT) stock analysis for beginners

Education only. Not a buy or sell call.

Microsoft is easier to like than to read. Office, Windows, LinkedIn, gaming, and Azure sit in one ticker. A stock analysis session should separate “people pay us every year” from “we are building data centers.”

What to look at first

Open revenue and operating income over several years. Then cash from operations and capital spending. Cloud stories often spend cash now to earn later. That can be fine. It should be visible. Using “AI” as a substitute for the cash chart is the usual beginner skip.

A beginner order for MSFT

  1. Open MSFT in the Finorify web app as a guest or signed-in user.
  2. Read revenue and cash flow. Ask if Microsoft is compounding or just having a good year.
  3. Use the scorecard as a summary, then the help sheets on any term you do not know.
  4. Only then open the DCF. If you need heroic growth to make the price work, write that down.
  5. Note the next earnings date so you are not surprised.
